About the event
The lecture series provides an opportunity to delve into themes of modern and contemporary art, drawing on a wide range of examples from artists from cross the globe, with specific focus on the Arab world. Each is a stand-alone lecture, which provides an opportunity to view works under the different themes listed below. The lecture series explores works from across the decades with specific focus on the 19th and 20th Century and contemporary art practices.
The series consists of a lecture accompanied by Q&A and discussion about works and concepts.
The intention is to tie in these lectures with local happenings and exhibitions so as to experience first hand what Sherwell teaches in her lectures.
